In this position you will work with our residents providing meaningful activities for them, both one on one and in group settings helping them keep their cognitive and physical capabilities as sharp as possible.

Job Summary:

• Responsible for all mandated documentation for assigned residents, i.e., initial assessments, care planning, quarterly and annual reviews.
• Planning of monthly activities calendar with recreation team.
• Implement large and small group activities as scheduled on the monthly calendar.
• Responsible for transporting resident to all activity programs.
• Maintain enthusiasm and motivation with the residents and staff.
• Maintains work area in a neat, organized manner.
• Will assist the nursing with passing trays as needed.
• Responsible for transporting resident to all activity programs.
• Give any needed direction to the Recreation Assistants to ensure the residents receive optimal service from the Recreation Department.
• Work rotated weekends when needed or necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field strongly preferred. Must have 1-2 years experience in Recreation Therapy with the geriatric population.  Or minimum four years’ experience in Recreation field with geriatric population. Computer skills required. NYS required documentation experience preferred. Memory care/Dementia experience preferred.

Pay Range: $17.50-26.50 per hour 
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
