The Highlands Living Center has a per diem opening for an MDS Assistant. Flexible in hours.

Performance Outcomes:
Operations:
-MDS Scheduling upon admit and concurrently throughout the resident’s stay.
-Initiates Medicare certifications.
-Enters MDS assessments and tracking records into PCC
-PPS MDS completion
-OBRA MDS completion as needed
-Entering therapy information into the MDS
-Preparing MDS scores for billing
-Monitors interdisciplinary team for timely completion of the MDS
-Provides guidance and education to Nurse Managers, Social Workers, Recreational Therapists, Dieticians, and other   MDS staff for accurate coding of the MDS.
-Sends clinical information to insurance companies for concurrent review.
-Initiates NOMNC when insurance coverage is ending.
-Submits MDS to CMS and obtains Casper reports when needed
-Completes tasks of other MDS staff in their absence.
-Obtains insurance authorizations in the absence of the Admissions Manager
Qualifications

Education & Experience:
A graduate from an accredited program with current NYS RN or LPN license, min. one year of long term care experience and 1 year of MDS experience and insurance authorization experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, excellent clinical skills, demonstrated ability to establish & reach outcomes, work professionally & collaboratively with internal & external customers.

Language:
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, reports and legal documents.

Pay Range:

LPN Pay range $25.00-37.00 per hour.
