Come with us. We're leading the way back home.

At The Living Center, our approach to memory care comes from a position of deep respect for our Residents with Dementia.  Staff are specially trained to provide these caring, innovative services and take pride in enriching lives.

We are taking a dramatic approach to the look and feel of the environment in our Dementia Unit.  Existing lounges and community areas are now re-envisioned as a neighborhood of familiar spaces that provide real-world experiences and conjure warm feelings in us all.  Each area allows for independent interests to be lived out by Residents addressing needs for purpose and providing genuine moments of pleasure and peace.

Nursery Buggy

The "Florence S. Klotz" Nursery
Made possible with a donation from The Klotz Famiy, the Nursery addresses the need of so many to give love and nurture.  It provides a realistic, comfortable room for giving the special care to "little ones" as well as have purposeful moments, like folding baby clothes or "straighten things up".

Helena's Bird House
Just down the hall are the Love Birds chirping and fluttering in a custom-built, enclosed environment.  This aviary was made possible by a donation from The Elliott Family and provides the sights and sounds of nature to Residents of The Neighborhood.

The Office
The Office provides fulfilling moments to our Residents that have worked their whole lives and still desire to "employ" their skills in a purposeful way.  Additionally it allows for reminiscing in old books, reconnecting with past memories perhaps once lost.  The Office was created with funds from The Living Center's 2008 United Way Campaign.

The Ladies' Boutique
Colorful scraves, elegant hats and sparking jewelry.  All can be found in The Boutique.  Ladies (and Men if they are inclined) can visit this area and experience again the joy brought with trying on a lovely necklace or chating with a fellow Resident about which hat looks best.   As with the entire Neighborhood, this area provides experiences that don't have to be lost once a person moves to The Living Center.

In the near future, areas such as The Porch Lounge, the Outdoor Patio, and the Library will bring even more meaningful surroundings and give our Residents the opportunity to find memories once lost.

Hand-In-Hand Program
We believe in our Residents' memories and aspire to provide them programming that brings them a sense of pleasure, peace, and purpose again.  "Hand-In-Hand" is a unique, programmatic approach that reacquaints our Residents with the things they enjoyed doing all their lives.  In a calm and serene environment, our Residents are able to return to past interests such as painting, sorting, flower arranging, and community service, all while enjoying the fellowship of others.  Hand in hand with our "Butterflies" who facilitate this program, Residents are given the chance to Rediscover Life.
