Life Enrichment Care Assistant

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate and/or lead activities and programs for the residents in the Laurelwood community, while also assisting residents with their personal care including direction and assistance with grooming, i.e. hair care, shaving, ordinary care of nails, teeth and mouth, dressing, bathing, and toileting per resident’s care plan.

  1. Responsible for the preparation and facilitation of programs, including both group and individual activities and outings, to meet the needs of the geriatric resident
  2. Notifies residents of upcoming programs and escorts them to appropriate areas as
  3. Ensures attention to residents’ personal needs and their safety at all times while in the community
  4. Builds enthusiasm for life enrichment
  5. Assures the socialization & activity needs and desires are being met by regularly interacting with residents and sharing feedback regarding programming likes and dislikes with the Life Enrichment
  6. Completes necessary documentation for residents with regard to activity preferences, behavior changes, and level of participation, Shares documentation with the Life Enrichment Coordinator and Director of Laurelwood as appropriate.
  7. Maintains activity areas in neat, organized
  8. Becomes a member of a cohesive team to achieve the goal of maximum quality of life for the residents of
  9. Maintains a positive working relationship with all community
  10. Participates in departmental meetings and family meetings as
  11. Maintains equipment and supplies, locked where appropriate, and requests additional supplies from the Department Coordinator or Director when
  12. Complies with all policies and procedures related to financial documentation, including resident finances and company credit card.
  13. Assists with programming in Independent Living as
  14. Assists residents with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs) as per Individual Service Plan, as needed.
  15. Assists in observing the overall health status of residents and informing the Director or designee of issues.
  16. Maintains confidentiality and upholds resident rights.
  17. May complete resident documentation including charitable events, incident reports, shift reports, and communication logs.
  18. Assists residents and Fine Dining staff during meal service.
  19. Answers resident emergency call system promptly evaluates the situation and resolves as needed.
  20. Listens and responds to resident concerns and reports issues to the proper discipline.
  21. Performs light housekeeping in apartments and common areas as needed.
  22. Assists with linen changes and personal laundry as needed.
